The City of Singen is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with Section 10 (1) of the State Disability Equality Act (L-BGG). 

This digital accessibility statement only applies to the erlebe.singen.de domain.


Compliance status

This website is not compliant with Section 10 (1) of the L-BGG. The incompatibilities (and/or exceptions) are listed below.


Non-accessible content

The following content is not accessible because it does not comply with the underlying harmonised standard EN 301 549:

  • Many pages contain images without captions. Navigating to the images with screen readers is difficult. | WCAG: 1.1.1
  • Several pages contain links without link text. | WCAG: 4.1.2
  • On almost all pages, the contrast between text and background is too low. | WCAG: 1.4.3
  • On one page, there is an “iframe” element without a label. Navigating to the iframe with screen readers is difficult. | WCAG: 4.1.2
  • No language is specified in the HTML on individual pages.| WCAG: 3.1.1
  • Some pages contain form fields without labels. This makes it difficult to navigate to the form fields using screen readers.| WCAG: 4.1.2
  • Several pages contain buttons without labels. Navigating to the buttons using screen readers is difficult. | WCAG: 4.1.2
  • Several pages contain headings that have no label or contain the aria-hidden attribute and are therefore not accessible to screen readers. | WCAG: 1.3.1
  • On individual pages, the meta viewport prevents zooming. Disabling zooming makes it difficult for people with visual impairments to read page content. | WCAG: 1.4.4

  • On several pages, description lists are structured incorrectly. As a result, description explanations and description headings are not displayed correctly and are not output correctly by assistive technologies.| WCAG: 1.3.1
  • On some pages, there are elements whose Aria ID appears multiple times. This makes it difficult to navigate the website with screen readers. | WCAG: 4.1.2
  • Some pages contain lists that include items that do not belong in lists. This may cause assistive technologies to render the lists incorrectly. | WCAG: 1.3.1
  • Documents integrated into the website (PDF, DOC, etc.): Due to the large number of documents provided, some of which are quite old, conversion into an accessible format has not yet been possible. Documents provided by third parties (e.g. other organisations, destination management organisations (DMOs), associations, etc.) are also not accessible.
  • Videos embedded in the website: So far, we've only been able to provide some of the videos with audio description.
  • Cartography on the website: A cartographic representation is a useful addition to information. However, cartography is essentially pictorial and therefore cannot meet the requirements of the BITV.
  • The alternative text for images is incomplete. The city of Singen's website uses the mein.toubiz database (the central tourist database of the state of Baden-Württemberg) as its core feature. Tourism businesses that cooperate with the city can use this to enter a wide variety of data sets, which are then displayed on the erlebe.singen.de website. Depending on the maintenance status, these data sets are more or less accessible. While the city of Singen has no direct influence over this, it regularly draws its partners' attention to the necessity and importance of the issue and raises awareness of it in various places.
  • External data entries do not comply with accessibility requirements. The city of Singen's website uses the mein.toubiz database (the central tourist database of the state of Baden-Württemberg) as its core feature.
